Paraphrasing
hsiffypah: What's! On! My! Summer! Schedule!
Friday May 23 (Marcon in Columbus):
5:30 P.M. Union E (75 minutes)
"The Evolution of Filk: What Is Filk?"
Origins of filk and how it’s grown and developed since. Where we were, where we are, and were we are going.

Saturday May 24 (Marcon):
11:30 A.M. Union E (75 minutes)
"Programming Filk: Filk Convention Vs. General Convention"
When it comes to programming for a filk track what do you have to consider? What’s the difference between a full filk convention and a general convention?
Trace Hagemann (Moderator), Randy Hoffman, Howard Scrimgeour, Mary Bertke, Susan Moerdyk
2:00 P.M. Registration Hallway (30 minutes)
Concert: Randy Hoffman
Tuesday June 3 (Pittsburgh Songwriter's Circle meeting at the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern):
9:00 P.M. (30 to 40 minutes)
Featured Songwriter concert: Me
Saturday June 7 (private party at North Park):
Sometime between 2 and 10 p.m. (1 hour)
Concert: Me again
[I'm really jazzed about this one. A couple guys who throw an outdoor "geek party" for their friends every year decided to have some live music this time around. They heard me *once*, two years ago, and called Calliope, the arts organization that sponsors the Songwriter's Circle, to get my contact information. This is the first non-convention gig I've ever been given by anyone other than my friends, family, or church. BTW, I'm hoping that the wonderfully talented Kira Heston will be able to help me out on some subset of these concerts, the Marcon concert in particular.]
Friday June 13 through Sunday June 15: I would love to attend DucKon in Chicago, but I won't be able to swing a dedicated hotel room in addition to the $150 I'd have to shell out on gas. Anyone have crash space they'd be willing to share?
Friday June 20 through Sunday June 22: Contata in NYC.
Thursday June 26: I might attend Anthrocon here in Pittsburgh, but it would be for this night only, to hear Tom Smith and Alexander Adams. After last year's futile and expensive attempt to jump-start music programming at AC, I'm going to give the rest of the con a miss.
July is, of course, Rand's and Erin's wedding plus Confluence. Given that I have no vacation days and will have to make up the time I take off for Confluence as it is, I seriously doubt I will make Denvention.
